Educating Girls, Inspiring Confidence
In today’s fast-paced and often ‘noisy’ world, our girls are navigating more influences than ever before. From an early age, they are forming their sense of self amid messages about who they should be, how they should look, and where they belong. At our College, we are deeply committed to ensuring that each girl develops a strong, confident sense of identity—one that is grounded in her values, strengths and unique gifts.
In the Junior School, this begins with creating an environment where every voice is heard and valued. Through our wellbeing programs, classroom practices and daily interactions, we encourage girls to speak up, take risks in their learning, and understand that mistakes are a natural and important part of growth. Confidence is not about always having the right answer, but about having the courage to try.
Opportunities such as our recent Showcases and Open Classrooms provide authentic moments for students to share their learning, speak with pride about their achievements, and step outside their comfort zones. These experiences play an important role in building confidence, helping girls to recognise their capabilities and celebrate their progress.
We also recognise the vital role of partnership with families. Through simple, everyday moments of listening attentively, encouraging independence, and celebrating effort over outcome, we are all helping to reinforce these messages, both at home and at school.
By working together, we can empower our girls to grow into young people who know their worth, use their voice with confidence, and approach the world with courage and kindness.
As we head into the Term Break, I wish you and your family well. May this time provide opportunities to slow down, reconnect, and share in the joy of being together.
