Youth Environment Council

In 2025, Gabriella C (10W) was appointed to a position on the Youth Environment Council (YEC). The Youth Environment Council provides an opportunity for young people to voice their concerns and opinions about key environmental issues of interest, enabling them to engage with others and share their understandings and ideas about how to live sustainable lifestyles and support our environment.

Gabriella participated in a Sustainability Camp, managed a research project and presented her findings at a forum. Through her participation in the Council, she developed leadership skills which she will put to good use in 2026 as she has been selected as a Mentor for the program.

Gabriella has brought back many fresh ideas and initiatives to help guide the St Dominic’s Priory College Environment Club.

Students in Years 7-11 are invited to apply for a position on the 2026 Youth Environment Council via the YEC website here.
