Blessed and Being a Blessing
On Thursday 21 May, our College community gathered for the Vinnies Mass with a deep awareness of both the needs of our world and those within our local community. As colder days settle in Adelaide, the Mass invited us to reflect on the reality faced by many who experience hardship, homelessness, and isolation, especially during winter.
Guided by our 2026 theme, “Abundant Blessings – Blessed and Being a Blessing,” students were encouraged to recognise the gifts they have received and how these can be shared with others in meaningful and practical ways.
A highlight of the celebration was the student-created artwork of a “heart in hand,” symbolising compassion, generosity, and care. These pieces formed a powerful visual reminder that even small acts of kindness can bring hope, dignity, and love to others.
Through prayer, reflection, and action, the Mass strengthened our commitment to support the work of the St Vincent de Paul Society, particularly through the Winter Appeal. Students and staff were invited not only to give, but to become a blessing in the lives of others.
As a community, we are reminded that in sharing what we have, we help to build a more compassionate and hopeful world.
