ST DOMINIC'S PRIORY COLLEGE | Class of 2026 Last Day

With Gratitude, Hope and Good Company

As our Year 12 students prepare to commence their final examinations, we reflect with gratitude on a special celebration of their journey at St Dominic's Priory College, the friendships they have forged and the wonderful young women they are becoming.

Thursday 22 October was one of those significant days in the life of St Dominic's Priory College, as students and staff came together to recognise and celebrate the Class of 2026 on the final formal day of secondary schooling.

Beginning with a special breakfast, the celebrations continued with an introduction to the Old Scholars' Association, a farewell liturgy and blessing, and a guard of honour that brought the College community together in a fitting tribute to our Year 12 cohort.

It was a day filled with joy, gratitude and reflection, honouring not only all that these young women have achieved, but the unique contributions each has made to the life of our College.

We invite our community to share in these special moments through the photographs and video featured here, and to read the following reflection from our Principal as our graduates prepare for the next important milestone in their journey.

Principal's Reflection

The College gathers with you, dear Year 12s, the St Dominic’s Priory College Class of 2026.

You sit with your sisters, your friends, your teachers and our staff.

You sit with your St Dominic’s community.

You sit with those who nurtured you when you were struggling, who encouraged you when you grappled, who leant in when you needed support, who cheered you on and had your back.

They celebrated with you. They encouraged you. They inspired you.

You sit with your people.

On one side of you is a reminder of your past: those early years of learning, playing, creating, imagining and achieving.

Not far from you is a reminder of those middle years. Some joys, some sadness, some revelations and truths, perhaps some embarrassments, moments of forgiveness and moments of new beginnings.

Just behind you sits your most recent past.

Only one year ago, you sat there with great anticipation, with great hope and with every opportunity before you.

And now, it is your turn.

Your St Dominic’s past is your cloak.

Wrap it around you when you face adversity, when you feel vulnerable, when you need courage, reassurance or certainty.

Your past reminds you of what is possible.

It reminds you that you are successful, confident, intelligent and creative young people, ready to step into your future.

And we cannot wait to see what you do, where you go and, importantly, who you continue to become.

As you step forward into the next part of your journey, may you take with you, confidence, wisdom, truth and peace along with faith, hope and love.

In farewell we say thank you, we celebrate you, we rejoice in you, and we offer you our prayers.

Take with you our theme Awaken your hearts to gratefulness so that, being blessed, you continue to be a blessing for others.
