With International Women's Day falling on a Sunday in 2026, the College celebrated on Friday 6 March. A group of staff and students attended the Adelaide IWD Breakfast in support of UN Women Australia, where students also met Old Scholar Charlotte Kelly.
On campus, Senior Student Leaders shared breakfast together before watching the event virtually. Guest speaker Katherine Bennell-Pegg, the first astronaut to officially represent Australia and the first Australian woman to receive professional astronaut wings, delivered an inspiring address. Throughout the day, student leaders shared messages with students and staff and held a bake stall to raise funds.
In the lead up to International Women's Day, our Prefect Team asked staff and students to reflect upon what we can do to 'Balance the Scales', in support of the women and girls in our lives; creating the above video for our community.
On this international day of recognition, we join a global community united in celebration of women’s achievements and the call to deepen our awareness of gender equality. Whether in our classrooms, workplaces, homes or out in the community, let's work together to accelerate positive change through advocacy, education, and support for initiatives that advance women and girls.
