Preparing for Sports Day

Sell your Raffle Books now!

The Sports Day Raffle book went home last Friday.  Please sell these tickets to friends and family. All proceeds support sporting equipment at St. Dominic’s. Thanks to those who have already brought theirs in. 

Also in today’s Bulletin:

  • The Paper Bag Book Reports have kept the Year 5 class busy throughout this term.   

  • Primary Field Day results are published.

  • Year 10 Health/PE students go Surfing.

  • Year 12 Visual Arts took a day trip to Melbourne to visit the David Hockney Exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria

  • Year 7 French made Sorbet

  • Year 8 History has been learning about civics and citizenship

  • Understanding the serious implications of using Social Media has been a theme for topics covered in Year 9 Pastoral Care this term.  Last week we invited a Crime Prevention Sargeant from SA Police to speak to the girls about cyber safetyIt was very interesting to have a police officer’s perspective.

  • The Year 12 Society and Culture cohort was visited by Aileen Jeffries, who spoke about her new charity Our Street Family Matter; delving into the various realities and stereotypes surrounding homelessness in South Australia.

International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP)

  • For parents new to Years 6-9 who missed last week’s information session on the IB Middle Years Programme, the slideshows presented at the event have been uploaded to the Learning and Teaching section of the college website.  Alternatively, you can download them directly here: ENGLISH | VIETNAMESE.

Sports Day Notices   

  • There are still several stalls requiring parent volunteers on Sports Day.  Please sign up for jobs on the day if you have not already done so.

  • The PE Department would be grateful for assistance with judging events at Sports Day.  Please see the back page of the Bulletin for more information.

  • Your fresh baked goods will be greatly received by the Cake Stall on the morning of Sunday 26th March.  The ingredient slip included in today’s Bulletin will need to be afixed to each item.  Please note that the Cake Stall will be unable to sell cakes with fresh cream.  If you have any questions or need containers or cellophane bags for your donated baked items, please see the back page of the Bulletin for contact details.
