VOCATIONAL EDUCATION & TRAINING (VET) AND CAREERS COUNSELLOR

SACE Stage 2 Child Studies, SACE Stage 2 Workplace Practices, SACE Stage 1 Exploring Identities & Futures (EIF), and Vocational Education & Training (VET) and Career Counsellor.

0.70 FTE Replacement appointment to commence ASAP up until end of Term 2 2025.

ABOUT THIS EXCITING OPPORTUNITY

The Vocational Education & Training (VET) & Careers Counsellor will engage students in explorations and dialogue about their pathways beyond school. The VET & Careers Counsellor has insight into the world of work today and an understanding of how schools build employability skills and expand students’ thinking to approach their lives beyond school with confidence.

The VET & Careers Counsellor reports to the Director of Teaching & Learning, who is responsible to the College Principal.

The person appointed to the position of VET & Careers Counsellor will hold a teaching degree. The role attracts 7 lessons per week of release time to effectively complete the VET and Careers responsibilities together.

Furthermore, they are a teacher of excellence who provides a rich and robust learning environment in our Catholic Dominican tradition. All teachers are expected to be people of the highest integrity, with an ability to work collaboratively, positively and effectively with colleagues to inspire confidence in every girl at St Dominic’s Priory College.

Please be aware, all applications must hold a current Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be considered for this role. The successful candidate will be required to complete a Salary Determination Application (provided by the College), with statement of service(s) from previous employers to validate salary step.

  4. An up to date First Aid Certification (HLTAID010)
  5. If completed, the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum certificate (KS:CPC),
