Getting Our Game On…

It was a week of Quizzes, Expos and Launches…

As we steam towards the mid-way point of term, with Book Week and the Year 12 Drama Production on the horizon, we have kicked off Science Week this week with a set of challenging, informative morning Quizzes; in fitting with recent events across our LOTE and Maths faculties.  In today’s issue:

  • We feature an overview of last Friday’s DEA Launch; an exciting new venture that will see the mantle of (school) Governance assigned to a new body of Trustees by the three Congregations of Dominican Sisters.  More information regarding this was sent home to families in March of this year.

  • With the Olympics in full swing, our Year 4 class has been busy in & around the classroom, petitioning the IOC to consider Adelaide as the Olympic Host City for 2020… and over in Year 6, our girls have been Scrapbooking with their parents.

  • Our Year 10 cohort attended the Research Project Expo, where five Year 12 students, who completed their Research Project in 2015, manned one of 40 information booths.  These students were excellent ambassadors for the school; sharing hints on how to undertake the Research Project, overcome challenges, and meet the subject requirements, to year 10 & 11 students from around the state.

  • Six teams from across Year 9 & 10 attended the MASA Maths Quiz Night at Blackfriars, and five Year 10 French students competed against 11 other schools at the S.A. French Teachers’ Association French Quiz Night at the Goodwood Community Centre.

  • Our Year 4-7 Cross Country runners performed very well as one of the 60 schools participating in the SACPSSA Cross Country Championships at PAC.

  • This week’s Fete Appeal is $2 for the Lucky Dip Stall.
