TRANSITION PERIOD BETWEEN OLD AND NEW ACADEMIC UNIFORM
| How long is the transition period between the current and new uniforms?
The transition period in introducing the new uniform will span three years, starting at the beginning of Term 1, 2025, and concluding at the end of Term 4, 2027.
| Will students still be able to buy the current school uniform items?
Yes. The Uniform Shop will have a limited stock of the current school uniform to service those families who choose to maintain the existing uniform for the next 3 years.
| Which uniform should new students starting at St Dominic’s Priory College in 2025 wear?
New students starting at St Dominic’s Priory College in 2025 are encouraged to wear the new uniform. However, they may continue to wear existing uniform items or purchase from the outgoing range until the end of Term 4, 2027.
| Are students allowed to wear their current uniform items with the new uniform items?
No. Students must either wear the current uniform or the new uniform—not a mix of both—on any given day. For the current uniform, this includes following the summer/winter uniform rules.
| During the transition period, do all students need to wear the same uniform for their annual school photo day?
During the transition period, students are not required to wear the same uniform for their annual school photo day. They can choose to wear either the outgoing or the new uniform. Special attention will be given to the arrangement of students in the photos to ensure an aesthetically pleasing photo is captured.
| What will happen to the old St Dominic’s Priory College uniform items once they can no longer be used?
Once the old St Dominic’s Priory College uniform items can no longer be used, Noone will implement a program that allows these outdated uniforms to be donated to less privileged communities overseas. They partner with Rotary’s “Donations in Kind” initiative, which collects and distributes excess and obsolete uniforms to countries in need. Further details regarding the disposal of the old uniform will be communicated to families.
